A Contemporary Christmas

CQG held it’s annual Christmas lunch yesterday and as usual we had a full day…

Show and tell included lots of different techniques that we shared with each other, with plenty of ideas for work over the holidays. We also had another chance to view the WAQA Challenge quilts and were happy to hear that CQG member Judith Wilton was this year’s winner. Congratulations, Judith!

There was also plenty of action with Phil’s ‘kimekomi Christmas balls’ demo followed by the ‘Round Robin’ activity. Each table worked on samples of different techniques and embellishment, rotating the pieces so that everyone went home with a small work ready to use as a 12″x 12″ quilt. This was a huge success and the group has never been so focused and quiet before – see the slide show below…

Buffet lunch accompanied by Julie’s legendary punch finished off the day.
