February – Composition Class

Yep I’m late again with the blog. This month I’ll be looking for a volunteer who’s a bit more reliable to take over. Please consider giving it a go.

In February Jan led us through how the quilt above was made using inspiration from a photograph. Elements of the photo were selected and arranged in a pleasing composition to produce the colourful quilt. These sheet below show the process for a couple of photographs.

Show and tell seemed to feature more books than quilts this month. We’re all still hoping to persuade Lesley to form a splinter group for book art (perhaps textile books as well?).

Of course there were quilts too. This one is not a colourful bra but a bag!

A few pieces were ready for competition entry so I don’t have photographs of those but here are some other quilts and eco-dye we had on display.

See you next meeting!
